Albertville, AL ServSafe Workplace® Online Courses is a comprehensive suite of training programs rooted in the cultural and social issues affecting today’s restaurant and hospitality work environments. This new product line focuses on the mitigation and management of issues associated with the work and safety of employees and will assist in strengthening every establishment’s stance against harassment in the workplace.

ServSafe Workplace® equips employees and managers with training to help manage emerging risks and advance the positive culture of the foodservice and hospitality industries. These programs will combine online training to create consistent messaging while providing additional free resources such as breakroom posters, videos, and discussion guides to reinforce key training points.

Understanding Unconscious Bias in Restaurants

Understanding Unconscious Bias in Restaurants (Employee) is an interactive program that sheds light on the existence of unconscious bias and guides restaurant employees in their interactions with guests and fellow employees. Developed in conjunction with the Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance (MFHA), the course is designed specifically for employees working in foodservice and includes restaurant-industry examples that depict a variety of scenarios in which unconscious bias may occur and the impact they can have on individuals as well as the work environment.

All Online Courses are assigned with 24 Business Hours and once activated the course must be completed within 90 days of activation.

Sexual Harassment Prevention For The Restaurant Industry

Sexual Harassment Prevention for the Restaurant Industry (Employee) is an interactive program designed specifically for employees working in food service. It provides employees with facts about what sexual harassment is (and isn’t), how to report it, and why a harassment-free workplace is every employee’s right. Restaurant-industry examples describe a variety of sexual harassment scenarios and the impact they can have on individuals and the work environment. Developed in compliance with EEOC guidelines, the program takes a frank and modern approach to address and prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.

All Online Courses are assigned with 24 Business Hours and once activated the course must be completed within 90 days of activation.

Online Course Best Practices

Follow these tips to maximize your learning experience with ServSafe Online Courses.

  • Schedule your exam before starting the course. Knowing your exam date in advance will help you plan your learning schedule.
  • View the course in several short sessions each no longer than 1 hour.
    • ServSafe Manager Online Course: 8-10 hours in length.
    • ServSafe Alcohol Online Course: approximately 4 hours in length.
    • ServSafe Food Handler Course: 1 ½-2 hour in length.
  • An ideal training schedule is one 1-hour session every other workday at approximately the same time of day. For longer courses, we recommend that you view the entire course within three weeks.
  • View the course in a quiet space, away from noise and distractions. Use headphones if you must view the course in a busy location.
  • Print the course Study Guides. Use them to take notes for review prior to the Exam.
  • Complete the course at least two days prior to your exam date. This will allow time to study and review.
  • Review your post-test scores. The scores by section screen will help to identify which course topics you should review before taking the exam.
  • Print your scores by section and Record of Training after completing the course.
  • You may need to submit one or both of these documents to the person who will administer your exam.
