The ServSafe Alcohol® Online Course provides the fundamentals of responsible alcohol service by combining interactive exercises, audio, and video, and role-play activities to help prepare participants for real-life scenarios. Designed for convenience, this mobile-enabled four-hour course has a bookmark feature that allows users to easily return to where they left off.

All purchases are final. Please read the following before purchasing:

FOR CALIFORNIA USERS: Prior to taking the ServSafe Alcohol California Online Course users need to register with the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). You must have your nine-digit ID Number from your registration with the California ABC to start your course.   

Upon completion of your course, ServSafe will transfer your course record to the California ABC. Upon their acknowledgment of your training, you will return to the California Alcoholic Beverage Control to take your state-administered exam.  The ServSafe Alcohol California Online Course is approved by the California ABC to meet state training requirements that begin July 1st, 2022. 

FOR TENNESSEE USERS: Students taking the Tennessee ServSafe Alcohol Online Course need to obtain an RLPS ID number from the TABC website by clicking here. Step-by-step instructions for obtaining this number can be found by clicking here.

Once they receive the RLPS ID and take the course/exam they will need to immediately send an e-mail to programcompliance@restaurant.org and provide their name, RLPS ID #, class date, time, and location (which would be either the employer or city) for our submission to the TABC.

FOR ILLINOIS USERS: The ServSafe Alcohol Online Course and exam is BASSET approved for online and classroom delivery. Students will receive both a ServSafe Alcohol Certificate and the BASSET card. The BASSET card will be mailed directly to the student from the Illinois Liquor Control Commission.

FOR MARYLAND USERS: Must take the ServSafe Alcohol® Online Course and Advanced Exam

You will have 90 days from the start date to complete the course. The course will expire one year from the date of purchase.

Upon purchase, an Exam Access Code will be provided in an emailed receipt for each course purchased. After completing the course, choose either the English or Spanish primary exam, then enter the Exam Access Code included in your receipt to begin the exam.
